Taking part in your first Tri doesn’t mean you need an array of expensive kit, just a few essential bits and you’ll be ready to go
Pool or Open water you will need goggles. Cost can vary from £10 to £30, just make sure they have a good seal and don’t leak. Test them out before Race Day!
For the swim a TRI SUIT is an option, either an all in one or a 2 piece, these are great as means no changing in transition, however can make toilet breaks a challenge! Suits vary in price from around £40 up to £150. There are some fantastic women’s suits available now so no need to stick to greys and blacks!
If you don’t fancy a suit then a SWIMMING COSTUME followed by cycle shorts and T-Shirts/Vests are fine, just ensure they are comfortable, close fitting and offer padding and support where needed!
If you are doing an open water swim you will need a WETSUIT. These vary in design and price, and fit is very important in a swimming wetsuit. Some facilities will offer try before you buy or hire facilities.
