British Triathlon and Sport Relief have signed a partnership to promote GO TRI and encourage the triathlon community to fundraise for Sport Relief. The money you raise through Sport Relief helps vulnerable people across the UK and the world, to live happier, healthier and safer lives. Both organisations are aiming to get more people moving by completing a series of challenges available on the Sport Relief app. British Triathlon are promoting the GO TRI Gym Challenge to encourage people to get up and move in 2018.
Via the Sport Relief app, you can train ready for your GO TRI Gym Challenge, by taking part in our 5 or 10 minute fun exercise sessions, with our elite athletes showing you how! To take part in our Sport Relief challenges, download the Sport Relief app for free from the App Store and Google Play Store
GO TRI Gym Challenge
The GO TRI Gym Challenge consists of 3 elements; row, bike and run, which can be completed in one session or three separate sessions in a gym. Remember to bring your phone or a piece of paper and a pen so you can make a note of your times for later uploading on the GO TRI website.
- 500m Row – Jump on to a rower and set your level and off you go. Once you have completed the 500m row, make a note of it so you can upload the time to the GO TRI website.
- 7.5km Bike – Using an exercise bike, spin etc, set the seat at your perfect height and get comfortable and start cycling for 7.5km (please note that if your bike is measuring in miles you are aiming for 4.66miles). Once again, when you have completed the bike element, make a note of the time.
- 1.5km Run/Walk – The final element of the challenge is a 1.5km run/walk. If you can’t run on a treadmill, don’t worry you can walk the distance at your own comfortable pace.
If you are unsure how to use any of the equipment, then ask members of staff at your gym and they will gladly help you.
Once you have completed all three elements, then visit here to enter your times online. You will then be able to see how you rank against our elites, celebrities and other GO TRIERS.
To support you with your GO TRI Gym Challenge, British Triathlon want to ensure you can access your local gym! By working in collaboration with DW Fitness First and The Gym Group – Newport you will be able to access the facilities you need for free to participate in the challenge.
You can also participate in the challenge at your chosen gym. Just select the gym not listed option when you enter your times and see your times appear on the leader board along with everyone else who has participated.
You can download a free guest pass between from Monday 12 March until Sunday 25 Match for you to use at your local DW Fitness First. This will be available here during those dates.
If you live in Wales, then visit The Gym Group in Newport and tell them you are doing the GO TRI Gym Challenge for free entry in to their gym.
As part of our partnership with Sport Relief, we are fundraising to benefit those less fortunate then ourselves. We ask that you support Sport Relief by making a small donation via the British Triathlon fundraising page either when you have completed the challenge, completed the activity on the app or just because you want to help.
Thanks for supporting the GO TRI Gym Challenge and Sport Relief!
