Description

Black Country Triathletes are organinisg their annual training day for anyone taking part in the clubs Sprint Triathlon which is held on the 28th April 2019. Not only will you get professional coaching from the clubs fully qualified coaches, but you will also be able to have a practice at putting all of the four elements together, swim, bike, run and transition in the Go Tri event afterwards. 

 

Introduction to cover:

- Venue layout

- Registration layout and what to expect , race numbers, bike / helmet numbers, etc

- What to expect poolside.  race start procedure, swim etiquette.

- A brief description of our bike route and run route.

- BCT will go through all the clothing options. From t shirt and swim kit through to tri suit / lace locks and number belts.

- Q&A before moving outside

Practical:

- BCT setup a small transition area and demonstrate how to layout race kit. The club coaches will then demonstrate correct mount / dismount and walking/ running with the bike.

- Swim technique session - We have 4 swim lanes and divide into ability groups and have a 30 min technique session based around making improvements to swim stroke.

- Go Tri event start - you should now feel well prepared and raring to give multisport ago. To register your place for the Go Tri event, please click here.

The session will take place on the 16th March 

Time:

 The day will take place 13.00-17.00

Where:

Wombourne Leisure Centre, Ounsdale Rd, Wombourne, Wolverhampton WV5 8BJ

What you will need:

  • Comfortable clothing for cycling/running
  • Swimminng costume/trunks/goggels/towel/swim hat if have one
  • Hat/gloves - as will be outside
  • Bike and helmet for the cycling session 
  • Warm clothing for after the session

Anyone completing the go tri event and feeling confident to take on a full sprint distance triathlon will be able to enter the BCT April 28th sprint .This event is usually over subscribed , details of how you can enter the full sprint will be available on the novice training/ go tri session day.

What you'll need

General kit list:

  • Trainers
  • Shorts/Leggings
  • T-Shirt or top
  • Water bottle
  • Towel

Swimming:

  • 1 or 2 piece costume for ladies
  • Trunks or shorts for men
  • A wetsuit if your swim is open water
  • Don't forget your goggles!

Biking:

  • All you need is a Bike

Running:

  • All you need is a pair of trainers
