Description

The world's first triathlon training session for people living with Parkinson's disease!

The session is aimed at anyone with a Parkinsons diagnosis, whether you are recently diagnosed, or have been living with Parkinsons for a while. 

Our trained and experienced coaches will support you to be able to complete an organised triathlon, based on your ability, and what you can achieve in the training block.

The coaching will be tailored to you to develop your swim technique and stamina, considering your own unique needs. We know that everyone experiences Parkinsons differently, and we can adapt the training to suit you. 

Each session will consist of a coached and supported swim session in the pool, followed by an indoor cycling session, and finishing with a run, walk or Nordic walk.

Dates - Tuesday 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th February, and Tuesday 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th March

Timings are:

9am-9:30am pool training

10am-10:30am Indoor Cycle training session

10:30am-10:45 am walk/run/Nordic walk training 

The 8-week course will be followed by a weekend triathlon event. There is no obligation to take part in the event after completing the training, but we are confident that we will be able to give you the skills, confidence and fitness to enjoy the achievement of completing a triathlon!

What you'll need

General kit list:

  • Trainers
  • Shorts/Leggings
  • T-Shirt or top
  • Water bottle
  • Towel

Swimming:

  • 1 or 2 piece costume for ladies
  • Trunks or shorts for men
  • A wetsuit if your swim is open water
  • Don't forget your goggles!

Biking:

  • Bike* (any bike will do)
  • Helmet
  • * If this GO TRI activity uses spin bikes, you don't need to bring your own bike *

Running:

  • All you need is a pair of trainers
