Description

The 6 week Learn to GO TRI sessions is for novices and improvers who would like to learn the components of a triathlon, these sessions will help prepare you for the GO TRI The BIG Swim Bike Run: Sunderland on Sunday August 21st which consists of a 100m sea swim, 6km bike and 2km Run. Please note you must be able to swim 25m prior to starting this course

When you attend these sessions, you will:

  • Be trying something new and achieving something great.
  • Probably be as nervous as the person next to you, so we’ll make sure we look after you with our friendly, knowledgeable coaches.
  • Meet new people who are all learning together.

Useful Information

Venue: Sunderland Aquatic Centre, Stadium Park. SR5 1SU

Wednesdays 6-7pm.

Session 1. July 6th.       Introduction to triathlon followed by a beginner swim technique session.

Session 2. July 13th.    Swim session.

Session 3. July 20th.    Cycle session including transition practice, on Roker promenade

Session 4. July 27th.   . Cycle session including transition practice, on Roker promenade

Session 5.  August 3rd.    Open Water confidence session - venue tbc

Session 6 August 10th     Swim Bike Run practice – venue tbc

The GO TRI sessions will be delivered by Colin Gardener a British Triathlon coach

The cost for the block of sessions is £36

There will also be some additional Open Water confidence sessions on August 6th.

What you'll need

General kit list:

  • Trainers
  • Shorts/Leggings
  • T-Shirt or top
  • Water bottle
  • Towel

Swimming:

  • 1 or 2 piece costume for ladies
  • Trunks or shorts for men
  • A wetsuit if your swim is open water
  • Don't forget your goggles!

Biking:

  • Bike* (any bike will do)
  • Helmet
  • * If this GO TRI activity uses spin bikes, you don't need to bring your own bike *

Running:

  • All you need is a pair of trainers
