Description

GO TRI Local is for people that are brand new to swim, bike and run and looking to take their first steps in a safe and enjoyable environment. Alnwick Triathlon Club are organising monthly events (3rd Thursday of every month at 6.45pm) in the Amble area ideal for complete beginners and all with an affordable £5 entry fee. The events will build through a calendar year starting in October with the aim that participants will feel able to tackle a triathlon in the summer. The first 6 events (October - March) will take place at Amble Links Caravan Park. These winter events will offer coached pool swimming with static bike and treadmill exercise in the adjacent gym. The emphasis at these sessions will be on participation and increasing duration and intensity of exercise. All activities will be available for the whole session allowing participants to do whatever they wanted to that day subject to ensuring fair access to all. When the weather improves we will move to Druridge Bay Country Park for some actual race practice.

Participants must be aged 16 on the 31/12/23. Spaces are limited. If you would like to be added to the reserve list then please email gotri@alnwicktriathlon.co.uk

What you'll need

General kit list:

• Trainers
• Shorts/Leggings
• T-Shirt or top
• Water bottle
• Towel

Swimming:

• 1 or 2 piece costume for ladies
• Trunks or shorts for men
• A wetsuit if your swim is open water
• Don't forget your goggles!

Biking:

• Bike* (any bike will do)
• Helmet
• * If this GO TRI activity uses spin bikes, you don't need to bring your own bike *

Running:

• All you need is a pair of trainers
