GO TRI Local is for people that are brand new to swim, bike and run and looking to take their first steps in a safe and enjoyable environment. GO TRI Local takes place within the heart of your community; at the same time, on the same date, at the same place, with the same distances every month allowing you to track your progress over time.
Triathlon England is working with selected delivery partners to hold the first GO TRI Local pilots in Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. GO TRI Local Mallory Park is a great opportunity for everyone to try out a multisport event on a closed road race circuit. In this case a duathlon and triathlon, which consists of a run, bike, run or a swim, bike run.
The distances for this GO TRI Local are: 1.5km run (1 lap of flat oval circuit) or 200m lake swim, 7.5km bike (5 laps of flat oval circuit), 1.5km run (1 lap of flat oval circuit). These events are not focused on racing, but we will provide an overall time for each individual taking part. The lower age limit to enter is 8 years old, there is no upper age limit. Toilets will be available, however as per our Covid-19 measures, the changing rooms and showers will remain closed. The start time is 18:30. All 8 year old's must be able to swim 200m and be accompanied on the swim by an adult.
