Frequently Asked Questions

Q

I’ve just heard about Tri Summer and I am keen to get involved – can I still register?

A

Amazing – we would love for you to get involved. Registration for Tri Summer will be open until 1st September 2019. You can still register to be able to access the downloadable training log to help you track your distances at www.gotri.org/TriSummer

Q

I would like to tell you about my progress towards my chosen Tri Summer challenge – how can I do this?

A

We are asking all participants to log the distance they achieve in each session, within their GO TRI dashboard. You can find your dashboard by logging in at www.gotri.org/dashboard/login You can also tell us about your swim, bike and run journey on social media – tweet us @yourgotri and @BritTri using #TriSummer or Instagram @yourgotri and @BritTri.

Q

I went swimming twice today, but in my dashboard, I can only submit my first activity distance.

A

You can only submit one swim, cycle and bike distance per day. If you have done two sessions of the same discipline (swim, bike or run) on the same day then we suggest adding the two distances together. E.g. On Thursday, I swam 50m in the morning and then later that day another 150m, then you would submit 200m swimming for Thursday.

Q

I have heard there is a certificate available when I have completed my Tri Summer challenge. How do I get my certificate?

A

Once you have submitted your distances in your Tri Summer area of your GO TRI dashboard and these distances reach or exceed one of the three challenges, you will be able to claim your certificate, in the Claim Award section. Select your chosen challenge from the list and your certificate will be available for download. You click on Download Your Certificate and your certificate will download and be available for you to print. Please note; you can only claim one award, so before claiming for your chosen challenge, have a think about whether you would like to progress on to the next challenge.

Q

How do I log my distances on the Tri Summer training log?

A

You can download your Training Log within the GO TRI dashboard – in the Download Training Log box. On the Training Log, the idea is you colour in the boxes to represent different distances for each discipline (swim, bike and run). For the swim, one box = 25m (usually one length), for the bike, one block = each 2km cycled and for the run, one box = each 500m run.

Q

How old do you have to be to take part in Tri Summer?

A

Participants can be any age to take part, but please ensure you are safe and you are supervised by an adult if you are under 16. You must be 8 and over to register on the website for Tri Summer, but if you are under 8, ask your parents to register on your behalf, or even better get involved as a family.

Q

Where can I get ideas about how to complete my Tri Summer challenge?

A

There are lots of activities and events on the GO TRI website. You can do a Gym Challenge, build a DIY Tri or book on to a session or event. If you would like our Tri Summer training plan, why not become a British Triathlon member and you will receive our training plan free together with a Tri Summer gift.

Q

I use Strava to track my training and progress. Can I use Strava for this campaign?
