I wanted more of a physical challenge

Since I was 9 I’ve been involved in swimming but after I graduated from university, I wanted more of a physical challenge. My local gym started offering GO TRI sessions, so I decided I’d go along and have a go to see if this was the challenge I was looking for!

The sessions were great for beginners and often covered 2 out of the 3 elements of triathlon within one session. After a great 3 years of training, I felt ready to take on a bigger challenge!

Since starting the GO TRI sessions, I've taken part in 15 triathlons around the country and I have GO TRI to thank for that! I’ve now become a British Triathlon member, and I’m really excited about competing in the ETU Aquathlon Championships in Ibiza where I will be representing the Great Britain Age Group Team for the first time. I can't believe how far I have come since taking on my first GO TRI challenge!

My advice to someone who hasn’t given triathlon a go is to find a GO TRI event as an entry level opportunity. Be confident that your body is a lot more resilient than you expect, and don’t feel under pressure to be great at all three disciplines.
